Instant Approval Credit Cards

Instant Approval Credit Cards

If you’ve had an emergency and need a credit card right away or you just don’t want to wait, you can get an instant approval credit card. The one caveat is that the better your credit is the faster you will get your card. If the credit card company has concerns about your credit, you may not get your instant approval card instantly. You may be put in a pending status and find out within 30 days if you are approved.

Store Credit Cards

Most of us have been offered the opportunity to get a store credit card and save on our first purchase. The instant approval department store credit cards have some limitations. The interest rates may be high, or the card is only good within that specific store chain.

Don’t get one just because it is offered. The hard pull that the company will put on your credit report shows up negatively on your credit score.

Secured Credit Cards

Another instant approval credit card is the secured card or prepaid debit card. Since you have to put down a security deposit and that is usually your credit limit, secured cards/prepaid debit cards may not help your emergency situation.

Credit Cards That offer Instant Approval

American Express offers instant credit cards, many with great benefits, including travel cards. Be careful to make certain that a co-branded card (AMEX and Delta, for instance) can be used for non-Delta purchases.  American Express also can send you a digital image of your new card, number and security code instantly. Also, make certain it is a credit card not a charge card. A charge card requires you to pay off the balance in full.

Chase offers instant credit cards, but you will have to wait for your card to show up in the mail, so it can take a few days.

Capital One offers instant credit cards and an app where you can see your new credit card number. People report that this app is not always reliable, and you may not see your credit card information. Logging out and then back in may solve the glitch.

Bank of America and Citi don’t generally offer instant cards. However, some of the cards may have issue instant access. Counting on them to issue an instant card may not be worth the chance.

BBVA may issue an instant card if you apply in person at one of their branches.

Blispay claims that you can apply on your phone and instantly use your card anywhere Visa is accepted.

Costco offers an instant card to members that can be used at a Costco. You do need to apply at a Costco.

Final offers an instant credit card on approval.

First National Bank of Omaha offers an instant card when applying in person at an MGM resort or M Life desk.

Synchrony does offer an instant credit card number on approval. The Ebates card can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. The eBay and Paypal cards are limited to online purchases and to $250 until you get a permanent card.

USAA offers instant access but limits spending to $1000 until receiving your permanent card. USAA is also limited to members who must be military or military families.
